Stableford’s New Private Club is Bringing Golf, Wellness, and Design to West Los Angeles

Los Angeles is getting a new private club designed around the way a new generation of golfers actually lives. Opening in West Los Angeles in late 2026, Stableford will bring together golf, wellness, hospitality, design, and social experiences under one roof.

Set along the Brentwood-Santa Monica corridor, the 13,000-square-foot clubhouse is designed as an alternative to the traditional golf club. Rather than centering the experience around a four-hour round, Stableford is built for everything that happens around the game, from an early morning practice session to an evening drink with friends.

The concept was created by co-founders Sanjay Mattela and Drake Walker, who saw an opportunity to rethink private golf in a city where access to traditional clubs can be limited. Their answer is an intimate urban clubhouse where members can practice, play, recover, work, host, and socialize without leaving Los Angeles.

Golf remains at the heart of Stableford, but the experience is distinct. The clubhouse will feature eight private TrackMan simulator lounges designed to feel more like lavish dining rooms than conventional golf bays. A large indoor putting green powered by PuttView technology will offer another space to refine the game.

Members will also have access to private coaching from Lucas Wald, Stableford’s director of golf. Known for working with clients across entertainment, sports, and business, Wald will lead an exclusive on-site teaching program when the club opens.

The result is a golf environment designed around flexibility. Members can fit practice and play into mornings, evenings, weekdays, and social occasions without committing to an entire day on the course.

Stableford extends beyond golf with private wellness suites dedicated to recovery, performance, and relaxation. Amenities will include cold plunges, traditional Finnish saunas, and large-format red light therapy panels, alongside equipment for stretching, massage, and yoga.

The residential approach carries into the clubhouse itself. Award-winning hospitality interiors studio Mazzarini & Co. was brought in to create a space with the warmth and intimacy of a private residence, moving away from the conventional aesthetic of a golf facility.

Food and beverage will be woven into the rhythm of the club. Mornings will begin with an espresso and smoothie bar, accompanied by pastries from local bakeries. Throughout the day, an all-day counter will offer a rotating menu of fresh, locally sourced dishes, including poke bowls, sushi, grain bowls, wraps, and sandwiches.

As the day transitions into evening, the clubhouse turns into a social scene. A cocktail program developed with one of Employees Only’s principal bartenders from New York will bring a sophisticated bar experience to the Westside.

Beyond the clubhouse, Stableford will offer members-only events, golf leagues, game nights, culinary experiences, and destination golf trips to private clubs and resorts around the country.

With membership capped in the low hundreds and offered only by invitation, Stableford is intentionally designed to remain intimate. Its vision is less about creating another traditional golf club and more about building a community around the lifestyle surrounding the game.

Opening later this year, the Westside clubhouse will offer Los Angeles golfers a new place to spend time with the game, even when there is no tee time on the calendar.
