Ducati at 100: Its Most Extreme Motorcycle Yet

To mark its 100th anniversary, Italian motorcycle maker Ducati isn’t just celebrating, it’s breaking records by creating the most extreme street-legal bike ever. The 2026 Superleggera V4 Centenario does more than push traditional limits, it redefines them, reaching never-before-seen levels of performance.

Defying Laws of Gravity

The bike, being almost completely carbon fiber, weighs as little as 368 pounds, nearly 50 pounds less than its predecessor, the Paningale V4 R. Ducati crafted the only bike in the world with a full carbon fiber frame, swingarm, subframe, wheels, and chassis, giving it the ability to slice through the air with intense precision and speed.

In a radical pursuit of extreme performance, Ducati created a “one of one” motorcycle. The Superleggera V4 Centenario is not only one of the lightest bikes ever made, but also one of the fastest. The engine is a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 and delivers 247hp of pure adrenaline. Ducati claims that the Superleggera has a unique engine shared with no other model; it was engineered exclusively to break records with its power-to-weight ratio.

Even after a century, Ducati continues to innovate and stand out by introducing three world-firsts in a motorbike. The Superleggera’s full carbon body, weight-to-speed ratio, and carbon-ceramic brake disks give the bike an unequaled performance. Ducati took a brake system designed for the racetrack and made it road-ready by using Brembo carbon-ceramic brake disks. The disks are engineered to handle the most demanding track conditions and extreme temperatures. By lowering inertia, securing control, and allowing the bike to handle tight corners, the Superleggera delivers one of the most exceptional brake performances ever seen.

World-Winning DNA

The motorbike’s silhouette is designed for precise control and straight-line stability. Its body was crafted in a wind tunnel, allowing aerodynamic forces to mold its wings and lateral sidepods with acute accuracy. The bike’s contour is brilliantly engineered to generate downforce when leaning into corners and give the rider total control over the most sophisticated roadworthy Ducati ever made.

Heritage to High-Tech

Since its birth over a century ago in Bologna, Ducati has been dedicated to building the fastest and most beautiful motorcycles in the world. They have celebrated more than 100 years of innovation, passion, and love for motorbike aesthetic and performance. With its time-honored Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) color and unparalleled technology, the 2026 Superleggera V4 Centenario redefines excellence on two wheels.

The motorbike is stylish, undeniably refined, and could be the next best ride along the coast or through downtown. The price starts at $165,000 and includes a limited-edition Ducati jacket and helmet. Deliveries begin in the first quarter of next year.
