Bugatti has unveiled the W16 Mistral “Blanc Éternel,” a one-of-one Sur Mesure commission that celebrates the artistry of craftsmanship while paying tribute to one of the marque’s most distinctive collaborations. Created in partnership with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM), the bespoke roadster marks a new chapter in Bugatti’s exploration of design, inspired by the celebrated Veyron Grand Sport “L’Or Blanc” introduced 15 years ago.
Unlike its predecessor, the W16 Mistral “Blanc Éternel” expresses its artistry through the language of digital design. Fine black lines sweep across a white exterior, revealing the Class A surface geometry normally hidden beneath the vehicle’s finished bodywork. These flowing contours showcase the precision behind Bugatti’s design process, transforming technical development into a visual work of art while emphasizing the sculptural form of the W16 Mistral.
Bringing the design to life required exceptional craftsmanship. After the body was finished in white, Bugatti’s artisans meticulously applied tape by hand before painting each black line individually. Every section was carefully aligned to ensure the pattern flowed continuously across the vehicle’s complex surfaces, reflecting the precision required throughout the creation process.
The collaboration with KPM extends throughout the roadster. Handcrafted porcelain elements appear on the EB emblem, the fuel and oil filler caps, and the engine cover inlays, each carrying KPM’s royal scepter mark. Inside the cabin, the exterior’s flowing line motif continues across the white leather through a newly developed Bugatti process. Porcelain details are also integrated into the speaker cover plate, gear-shifter shells, kneepad inlays, center-console armrest inlay, and window-lifter buttons, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern automotive design.
To accompany the commission, Bugatti and KPM have also introduced a limited-edition porcelain collection inspired by “Blanc Éternel.” The collection includes the To-Drive Cup and KPM’s signature Aviator Cup in two sizes, with each piece handcrafted and finished using the same design language as the vehicle itself.
With the W16 Mistral “Blanc Éternel,” Bugatti continues the creative possibilities of its Sur Mesure program while honoring a collaboration that has become part of the brand’s modern history. The one-of-one commission reflects Bugatti’s dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic expression, bringing together automotive engineering and porcelain artistry in a singular celebration of design.
