A Technical Masterpiece Inspired by Film: Jacob & Co. Presents The Godfather II

Inspired by the lasting impact of The Godfather Part II, the new Godfather II watch from Jacob & Co. translates a well-known story into a detailed mechanical design. Built around the themes of the film, the watch brings together music, craftsmanship, and storytelling in a way that feels both thoughtful and precise.

The watch was created in partnership with Paramount Pictures and continues Jacob & Co.’s connection to The Godfather legacy. Earlier versions of the Godfather watch were known for their bold, theatrical style. With Godfather II, the approach feels more controlled, while still holding onto the emotion and identity of the original films.

“The Godfather was the first movie Jacob Arabo saw in a movie theater after coming to the U.S.A. The Godfather II is not just a watchmaking achievement. It is a creation with deep personal meaning as well as a uniquely entertaining timepiece and thrilling concept.”

The watch features a rectangular rose gold case with Art Deco influence, paired with black lacquer details and gold accents. The design is dark and refined, echoing the tone of the film’s noir aesthetic. On the dial, a portrait of Don Corleone appears alongside the recognizable puppet-string motif, directly referencing the film’s iconic imagery. On the caseback, images of engraved bullet holes symbolize the movie’s shootouts, and a piano-shaped opening reveals a music box comb. Both elements are covered by an engraved plate displaying the Godfather Love Theme’s actual musical composition.

Inside, the watch is powered by the JCAM62 movement, made up of over 500 components and developed over several years. One of its defining features is its ability to play up to ten melodies, including two tunes from The Godfather soundtrack: “The Godfather’s Waltz” and “Godfather Love Theme.” This musical element adds a layer of depth, connecting the watch back to the film in a subtle but meaningful way.

The watch also holds a 72-hour timekeeping part with a flying tourbillon. The tourbillon is held only by its lower end and covered by smoked sapphire glass, reinforcing the technical focus behind the piece.

The timepiece is limited to just 74 pieces, giving a nod to the film’s 1974 release. The Godfather II reflects Jacob & Co.’s continued focus on storytelling through watchmaking, where design, heritage, and mechanics come together with ease and intention.
