But let’s not overlook the food. Located off of the lobby of the five-star Chatwal Hotel in New York, The Lambs Club delivers in true Zakarian fashion. With red leather banquettes and chrome accents, this clubhouse-like space has a classic art deco feel and a relaxed, but luxurious level of comfort. With twists on classics cocktails like the Lobster Bloody Mary” or a “Smokin’ Margarita” (with reposado tequila, mezcal, agave nectar, lime juice, egg white, and a black lava salt rim) you are in good hands. If you want to step it up a notch or two, delve into the “Dubai or not Dubai” or the aptly-named “That is the Answer” (Casa Dragones tequila, Grand Marnier Centenaire, Hungarian Tokaji, Aperol, Suze Saveur d’Autrefois, and gold leaf).
The Duck Confit Latke provided a terrific twist and the addition of lingonberry jam, a poached egg, frisée and fresh tarragon took it right over the top. Other notable items include the Cold-Poached Tuna Salad (crispy artichoke, soft-cooked egg, mustard-olive vinaigrette), the Eggs en Cocotte (San Marzano tomato, Spanish capers, pecorino, fennel) and the Stuffed French Toast (strawberry-rhubarb chutney, banana pastry cream). The finishing touch of the Vanilla Baba (sweet dough crumble, bavaroise, strawberry sorbet) and a perfect cup of espresso sent me on my way with a smile on my face and music in my heart. For a one-of-a-kind brunch experience, it would behoove you to pay a visit to The Lambs Club next time you are in the city.
