Ah, Jewelry Week. That magical time when seemingly the entire jewelry and watch communities ascend upon Las Vegas for a multitude of massive conventions to showcase their latest luxury accessories. Next to Baselworld, it is probably the biggest industry event of the year, and the largest of these Vegas conventions are JCK at Mandalay Bay and COUTURE at Wynn Las Vegas. As always, Jetset was there braving the crowds to bring you a selection of the finest timepieces of the year.
Dior VIII Grand Bal Piece Unique Odine #N°1 (price available upon request)
Ladies first, and so we start with this stunning piece from Dior — designer of perhaps the most innovative and gorgeous women’s watches on the planet. This one-of-a-kind beauty features a white gold case-back, beautiful yellow gold, a crown set with a rose-cut diamond, and a bezel paved with snow-set brilliant-cut diamonds.
Bovet Shooting Star ($315,000)
Winner of Best Watch With Complications at the Luxembourg Watch Fair, master watchmaker Bovet’s Shooting Star is about as gorgeous as timepieces come. Limited to just 50 pieces, the Shooting Star features a transparent case surrounded by 18K white gold, a sapphire crown, and hemispheric Universal Worldwide Time with selectable time zone and an ultra-compact 24 city indicator.
Zenith Academy Tourbillon GFJ ($86,500)
Amongst watch aficionados, the Zenith name is synonymous with master craftsmanship, and this limited edition of just 150 pieces demonstrates exactly why. The Academy Tourbillon Georges Favre-Jacot features an 18-carat rose gold case, new “El Primero” movement equipped with a tourbillon, and proudly flaunts its mechanism in an entirely transparent manner.
Hermes Enamel Slim ($23,300)
Perhaps the most prestigious fashion house in the world, Hermes also produces some stunning timepieces. Debuting earlier this year at Baselworld, the dial on the Enamel Slim is crafted using the grand feu enameling technique and features a unique font designed by Philippe Apeloig, a rose gold case, anti-glare sapphire crystal case-back, and Matt Havana alligator band.
Breitling Chronomat 44 Limited Edition ($9,615)
In 2015, the Breitling Jet Team — the world’s largest professional civilian aerobatic display team performing in jets — set off to conquer America with a major tour featuring a string of stunning shows. To celebrate this event, Breitling has created this limited edition of the Chronomat 44 personalized in the team’s colors and featuring a black steel case, onyx black dial, high-frequency self-winding movement with date display, and black Diver Pro III strap with folding buckle.
BALL Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime ($2,799)
BALL timepieces are manufactured with micro gas tubes on the hands and hour markers that glow 100 times brighter than luminous paint and don’t require charging from any light source. This perfect diving/traveling watch features a rushed stainless steel case, is 1000 feet, and a display of all 24 different time zones and cities.
Montblanc 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim Limited Edition North America ($43,400)
Montblanc always delivers quality and innovation, as evidenced by this beautiful automatic limited edition. Just 36 of these pieces were made, and each features an exquisite hand-drawn painted map of North America (perfect for jetsetters), and an 18 karat white gold case and pin buckle.
Omega De Ville Tourbillon Co-Axial Limited Edition ($137,000)
This unique hand-crafted timepiece blends beauty with ground breaking innovation. Featuring Omega’s exclusive Central Tourbillon movement, it is set in a tourbillon cage protecting it from the effects of gravity. Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Jumping Hour ($48,490)
Regulator watches are a classic staple in watchmaking, and this one from Chronoswiss is perhaps the concept’s greatest incarnation yet. The sub-dials rise for the minute seconds hands, while the watch dials are also dominated by the elaborate signature guilloche which, when exposed to light, appears checkered or as a complex basketwork.
