The crown jewel of the West Valley in Peoria, Ariz. is the Blackstone Country Club, an exclusive and private club located within the 7,100 acre master plan of Vistancia.
Its boundless desert beauty is showcased by its stunning, 18-hole championship golf course designed by highly regarded Jim Engh, Golf Digest’s first “Architect of the Year” and four-time Golf Digest national award winner.
A standout private, luxury residential golf community, Blackstone at Vistancia sits in the Sonoran mountains amidst a vast desert landscape of majestic Saguaro cacti, Palo Verde trees and mountain formations, featuring deep chiseled channels with sheer rock faces and a series of black volcanic stones dotted along its magnificent desert golf course.
Blackstone Country Club’s 7,089-yard, 18 hole, par 72 layout was inspired by the links courses of Ireland. While Arizona and Ireland are direct opposites in their physical attributes, the concepts for some of the holes have been incorporated into the design, creating the dramatic terrain that is scaled perfectly for golf holes and includes elevation changes on each hole.
Players experience semi-blind shots, wildly undulating fairways and other features that stretch the envelope of course design. Unlike many golf courses in the Valley, Blackstone has backdrops behind its greens, and its humps and bumps are designed to funnel the ball toward the hole. It’s a challenging yet fair layout that will test the skills of any golfer. Add in the spectacular scenic views provided by Mother Nature and the experience is extraordinary.
The Blackstone Country Club golf course has also been awarded by Links Magazine among America’s premier courses and Travel + Leisure Golf listed it as one of the Top 100 golf communities in the country, calling the Blackstone golf experience “a visual, visceral joyride of a golf course.” Golf Digest Magazine has consistently ranked the course on its ‘Best in State’ rankings since its opening.

He and his wife recently built their dream home in Blackstone at Vistancia, and says the change in his lifestyle to become stress-free has been exceptional. Vistancia is the ultimate location for the couple. “We are in the heart of the Cactus League for MLB spring training, and in 40 minutes, we can be at West World in north Scottsdale for horse shows. We also like the fact that Blackstone is a multi-generational club,” says Kirk. “It creates a certain vibe, energy and a lot of activity. One of my favorite sayings is you can’t beat fun for a good time and Blackstone Country Club is the place to have fun.”
