Over the past four years, tens of thousands of women from across the world have come together to compete for the coveted Miss Jetset title and accompanying cover feature on the industry’s leading affluent lifestyle publication. The Miss Jetset competition has steadily gained momentum over the last few years, and for good reason. The highly-acclaimed competition sits atop the list of life-changing opportunities for new and upcoming models, as it offers women from all walks of life a unique platform to share their story and grow their network of like-minded professionals and entrepreneurs as they look to take their passion for modeling to new heights.
With nearly 15,000 beautiful and talented ladies registering to compete in 2018, the judges certainly had their work cut out for them. Each regional group of registrants was quickly filled to capacity before public voting was officially launched on February 8th. As the competition swiftly picked up steam, each of the various groups’ Top 15 models (as well as their top voters) were invited to attend Jetset’s VIP event after the conclusion of the competition. Finally, following weeks of rigorous battle, the field of talented entrants was narrowed down to this year’s Top 10 overall who advanced to the final week of voting before a winner was determined.
In true Jetset fashion, the latest cover model search headed out to Las Vegas, Nevada, to celebrate and crown the newly named Miss Jetset 2018, Lara Sebastian. Led by the team at Jetset Magazine and the impressive staff who work tirelessly to maintain the day-to-day operations of running the world’s largest online modeling competition, this year’s VIP Red Carpet Event was held at the gorgeous DAYLIGHT Beach Club adjacent to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Models from across the globe travelled to Sin City and navigated through the busy resorts and casinos on their way to the venue. Dressed to impress, all attendees walked the red carpet as they entered the event while several photographers stood by ready to capture their image on this night of celebration. Then, just as anticipation for the night’s events reached a fever pitch, the new Miss Jetset 2018 made her grand entrance.
After an array of red carpet photos were taken and VIPs were given a chance to peruse the club, the event culminated in the award presentation and crowning of Ms. Lara Sebastian as the new Miss Jetset. Along with the competition’s spokeswoman, Mary Hagen, Miss Jetset 2017 winner Adaliz Martinez was on hand as each of this year’s Top 5 was recognized onstage and awarded her sash and respective prize package. Once the crown had been gracefully passed along to Miss Jetset 2018, the evening was further highlighted by the presentation of a check for this year’s $156,000 donation to The B+ Foundation. The Foundation’s founder and president, Joe McDonough, graciously received the donation and shared the touching story of his son Andrew and the mission of the life-changing charity Jetset has been so proud to help support.
It was the perfect closing to yet another amazing year of turning modeling dreams into reality and providing families battling pediatric cancer with the much needed and ever-so-worthy support they deserve. It’s a win-win for everyone involved, and we’re deeply grateful for each of the women who competed in this year’s cover model search, as we work together to eradicate childhood cancer and help children and families in need of our support.
Special thanks to photographers Daniel Ortiz, Kevin Karg, and Michael Cunningham. Check out all of the photos from this year’s event at the link below and be sure to take a moment to visit www.bepositive.org to learn more about The B+ Foundation and the amazing work that they do!
