A big city vibe is a characteristic for a hotel that is usually easy to identify. It starts when you arrive, when you take your first steps inside the property and a uniformed bellman with impeccable customer service skills gets your visit started in style.
Check in is professional and efficient. You look up and skyscrapers rise tall in all directions, and there’s an energetic hustle and bustle that can’t be manufactured that you feel any day of the week. The Grand Hyatt-Seattle not only emanates big city sophistication, but a substantial amount of elegance and style, as well. It’s a chic and conveniently-located hotel, smack dab in the heart of Seattle’s retail and theater district. Great shopping and dining choices are literally steps away, and what we experienced firsthand was a selection of large, stylish and beautiful suites that will make any sort of trip to the Emerald City special. The Premier suites range from 1,200 to over 2,700 square feet, and feature incredible views of one of the more beautiful cities in the world. We started and ended each day looking out floor-to-ceiling windows over an expansive cityscape and directly to the Space Needle from our suite. It was spectacular, and when rest was needed, a push of a button-activated electronic blackout drapes, which, when combined with thick down blankets, ultra-plush pillows and some of the softest sheets you’ll find in any luxury hotel, combine to form a perfect sleep environment.
The suites are located on the upper floors of the 30-story hotel, and all contain separate parlor and dining areas, which is so convenient when it comes to late night dining in your suite. The suites also include marble baths, fine bath amenities and plush robes, as well as flat screen TVs, in -room safes large enough to accommodate a laptop, and an iHome stereo with IPod docking station. The hotel in general, and the expansive suites specifically, have been designed to reflect luxury, as well as the distinctive charm of Seattle. Rich solid wood paneling abounds, along with discerning art pieces, stone thresholds, natural fabrics and grainy woods. The vibe is warm. It’s inviting, and even though you may run into some gray skies and rain outside, the rich colors throughout the hotel have a way of counterbalancing them.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Starbucks and Blue C Sushi are all accessible from the hotel lobby, and 24-hour room service is available for anytime dining.
Whether it’s business or pleasure that calls you to Seattle, the Grand Hyatt Seattle is a hotel that will make your trip more memorable and enjoyable. The service is first class, the style is distinct, and you never lose sight of the fact you are not only in a world-class city, but in a great hotel in a big city.
